I’m afraid this may be pretty confusing to a lot of people who don’t know their district numbers. And somewhat strange to include Taylor County. More of the public would recognize names, I believe, rather than district numbers.

I believe we are planning more detailed announcements for each forum. You are correct, redistricting has created some confusion.

Wish they were including WV-01 Congressional candidates.

If you live in Mon County the candidates from these districts will be on the ballot. District 49 is mostly Taylor County but a small portion is in Mon County. I am just becoming familiar with the districts myself. I hope people are not discouraged from attending.

  • Sue, Although we do agree that a forum for WV-01 is appropriate, the currently planned forums are especially full this election cycle. We considered many factors in choosing from the limited dates that would work in our locally influenced timeframe. We also felt a WV-01 forum would require finding a 3rd date when it was difficult to find just 2 that would fit in prior to early voting. We are again discussing this but we would need to find a date, place and Rep. McKinley’s acceptance to proceed. That said, our forums are open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.
